Hamilton County, Indiana, has the lowest poverty rate in Indiana, somewhere between 3.8 and 5.1 percent. Much better than the US average of 12.3% to 14.7%.
But not for the 12,730 and 17,085* people in that 3.8 to 5.1 percent. There are several food pantries throughout Hamilton County but until Marilyn's Place Non-Food Pantry opened there was no place or program that consistently provided free clothing, hygiene, and cleaning products 52 weeks a year.
